The Snow Lodge at The St Regis Aspen Resort unveils new presidential suite
The Snow Lodge at The St Regis Aspen Resort has unveiled a new presidential suite designed by Antonio Di Oronzo of Bluarch.
The design scheme crafted by Di Oronzo is both relaxed and upscale, unfolding in a narrative of carefully considered proportions and light and dark.
While most furniture is bespoke and fabricated in Italy, the suite also features curated objects from Hermes, Baccarat, Fornasetti and boutique European brands.
Art is at the forefront of The Snow Lodge suite’s design. Curated by galleries Aktion Art and Wynn Fine Art, the artworks on display include pieces by Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Ed Ruscha, Alex Katz, Andy Warhol and emerging artist Wes Aderholds.
The lighting design has been envisioned to cater to tactile, contemplative moments, with light sources in continuous dialogue in soft contrasts, so as to never interject with one another and encourage objects to dance in a romantic chiaroscuro.
Upon enterring the living room, the seating area is the centerpiece. The coffee table is crowned by a hand-blown bowl by Polish artist Aleksandra Zawistowska while, in the distance, a cantilevered bar cabinet with an illuminated counter gives life to an arrangement of Baccarat crystals.
A few steps away, the bedroom is a refuge of soft forms. Alex Katz’ Coca Cola Girl 4 features beside a bespoke desk surmounted by two lamps by Folkform Sweden. At the other end of the suite, a wooden archway forms the threshold to the dining room. Here, curated accessories like The Three Sister Vases by Spanish artist Justine Menard and plates by Fornasetti add layers to the design.
