Palihotel Melrose celebrates anniversary with art-inspired redesign

Palihotel Melrose is celebrating its 13th anniversary by unveiling refreshed interiors and added amenities.

A staple of Los Angeles’s famed Melrose Avenue, the property first opened its doors in February 2012.

The building was an original late 1960s property reimagined by Palisociety founder Avi Brosh and his team as the first and only hotel on Melrose Avenue, following the opening of the original Palihouse West Hollywood in 2008. An early embodiment of Brosh’s now signature design sensibility, the hotel featured weathered wood-clad exteriors, a brightly lit marquee sign perched above the city sidewalks and interiors that echoed a cosy European inn with dark teal walls and layered furnishings.

In an ode to the new, the hotel has undergone a complete refresh by the brand’s in-house design team, with an art gallery-inspired foundation in the common spaces and artist loft-influenced interiors. The exterior wood siding and signature signage remain, now accented by bright red and white striped awnings over the guest room windows facing Melrose Avenue.

The lobby lounge has been transformed with light cream walls, peach-coloured flooring, and new lighting and lounge furnishings that sit alongside the original antique wood front desk. Walls throughout the hotel are now washed in white, acting as the backdrop for a newly curated collection of art, as a nod to the gallery loft influence behind the design.

Guestrooms feature a light and bright feel, anchored by a mix of preppy and traditional vintage elements such as leaning ladders, oversized mirrors and bold, striped headboards in blood orange and white.

The property also features a new fitness room, equipped with Peloton bikes, free weights and a refreshment nook.
