Interior design studio Bell & Swift recently brought its expertise to Escapade Silverstone, a residential and hospitality experience tailored to motorsport enthusiasts. Here, the studio lifts the lid on bringing the project to life.

Due to our experience designing for the hospitality sector, we were appointed interior designers for the Clubhouse at Escapade Silverstone – a place where guests can train, relax and socialise. We also provided a consultancy service for the residences, which were already underway, by working closely with the client to refine the specification and detailing of bespoke elements such as the kitchens, fitted joinery pieces and furniture. The entire Escapade complex had to merge comfortable luxury with the exceptional hospitality associated with the sport.

For the Clubhouse’s interior design, our scope was extensive and covered concept design through to onsite completion. Our goal was to create contemporary spaces that surpass guest expectations.

One of the most spectacular features of Escapade is its proximity to the Silverstone race track, and the views that can be enjoyed from both the residences and the Clubhouse.

The Clubhouse is a striking, modern building so it made perfect sense to continue this aesthetic into the Clubhouse interior design. We were keen to celebrate this iconic project, a residential experience tailored to motorsport enthusiasts, by merging comfortable luxury with exceptional hospitality. Paying homage to motorsport was key, but we didn’t want the interiors to feel themed or pastiche. We wanted them to feel like an environment that is refined and layered with reference to motorsport.

We used a mix of contemporary finishes, including metalwork, brass details and warm timber, to create an environment that is welcoming and comfortable as well as current and stylish.

The Clubhouse is designed to appeal not just to motorsport enthusiasts, but to all guests, as an oasis of calm and a place to socialise. It’s home to a swimming pool, treatment rooms and a gym, as well as a restaurant, bar, private dining rooms and a rooftop terrace with a bird’s eye view of the main track.

The first floor of the Clubhouse is home to the bar, restaurant and a range of spaces that can be used as private dining and briefing rooms. Across Silverstone’s annual programme, the Clubhouse will provide hospitality for a range of events, so flexibility across the first floor was a necessity. We therefore had to be smart with our furniture choices, to enable these spaces to be both intimate and able to be transformed into larger spaces by opening up into adjoining rooms.

Projects this distinctive are few and far between, so we’re delighted to add this exclusive location to our list of hospitality experience.
