Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort has opened its doors, showcasing designs by Turkish architect Mahmut Anlar.
The 11.4 hectare beachside property offers an elevated destination resort experience with thoughtfully-curated art, culinary and lifestyle partnerships. The opening marks the brand’s third property in Turkey, alongside Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort and Maxx Royal Kemer Resort in Antalya.
The new opening features a multitude of accommodation options, all with private balconies and terraces, and housed within contemporary buildings integrated into the hillside. Interiors by Geo ID feature a soothing colour palette with pops of colour – greens, tangerine and turquoise – inspired by the coastal surrounds. Natural materials have been integrated throughout, including wood, stone and marble, as well as locally-crafted hand glazed tiles. Guestrooms and public areas are accessorised with local artisan-crafted ceramics, handwoven rugs and artworks.
The hotel’s food and beverage offer spans seven restaurants and six bars, with a focus on the Aegean region’s abundant local produce. Spago by Wolfang Puck sees guests dining on a range of the chef’s signature classics, while The Maine is the third outpost from Montreal gastropreneur Joey Ghazal. Elsewhere, Cavia Kaspia offers a dining experience that fuses French with Russian, and a regional specialty restaurant serves local fish dishes cooked over charcoal. Casa Sol is an concept developed in partnership with drinks specialist Proof Creative, exploring the rich flavours of Latin cuisine, while Oro by Alfredo Russo offers a contemporary Italian dining experience.
A collaboration with Scorpios, meanwhile, the creative beach concept first conceived on the island of Mykonos, sees the launch of the brand’s first international outpost within the hotel’s grounds.
The flagship 4,500m² Maxx WellBeing Centre comprises 20 treatment rooms, offering an extensive menu of holistic and science-based treatments from international spa brands including Biologique Recherche, Art of Detox Phytomer and Swiss Perfection. Other wellbeing facilities include hydro and thermal experiences, a dedicated Medi-Spa area and Technogym fitness studio.
A collection of contemporary art has been curated for the resort by Zeynep Utku, founder of Arts Connected, who is behind the development of two on-site art galleries.
