Aethos adding five new destinations to portfolio
Aethos, the experience-led boutique hotel and member club brand, has announced plans for five new openings over the next two years.
With its growth backed by $100 million in funding from a consortium of investors led by Limestone Capital, Aethos is also adding key executives to its leadership team to support its rapid growth.
Following the launch of Aethos Ericeira on Portugal’s Silver Coast, the brand is set to open a 60-key resort on Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda in May 2024. Future openings in Madrid, Lisbon, Rome and Mallorca are slated for 2024 and 2025.
With the addition of Six Senses’ Marc Lores as Vice President of F&B, Aethos is putting a new focus on its food and beverage offerings. In his most recent role as Group Director of F&B Operations for Six Senses, Lores oversaw all F&B operations across multiple locations. Reza Kalatarian meanwhile is bringing a wealth of experience to his new role as VP of Membership, having previously served as the General Manager at Soho House Berlin. Kalatarian will steer Aethos’s membership initiatives, with a specific focus on enhancing the exclusive Aethos Club experience in all Aethos destinations.
“We’re not just another boutique hotel brand,” says Benjamin Habbel, co-founder and CEO of Aethos. “Our vision is to create spaces that become an integral part of the traveller’s journey—an immersive and enriching experience that lingers in the memory long after the stay. With €100 million in funding and a strong executive leadership team, we are not only reshaping the hospitality landscape but also setting new standards for boutique hotels in Europe.”
