Turkish hospitality brand Maxx Royal Resorts has revealed that Maxx Royal Bodrum will launch in late Spring 2024. Following the group’s elevated all-inclusive Maxx Inclusive concept, the forthcoming opening will mark the brand’s third property, alongside Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort and Maxx Royal Kemer Resort in Antalya.
Located on a private peninsula in Göltürkbükü framed by pine forests and the sparkling waters of the Aegean Sea, Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort will be a grand boutique-style property based on a bed and breakfast model. Set to enhance Bodrum’s beach scene, the property will also be home to the first Turkish outpost from Scorpios Beach Club, famed for its bohemian lifestyle concept.
Designed by Turkish architect Mahmut Anlar to blend seamlessly with the natural surrounds and landscaped gardens, the 11.4 hectare resort will offer a variety of accommodation options including multiple suites and villas. Measuring 1,063m2, the standout Presidential Villas comprise five bedrooms, a heated seawater pool, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and fitness centre.
Taking inspiration from the identity of Bodrum, interior designers Geo_ID will use a serene and natural colour palette throughout, incorporating interesting architectural details and patterns across the property. Rooms and public areas will feature local artisan-crafted ceramics and artworks. On arrival menawhile, guests will be greeted by a striking installation created exclusively for the hotel’s lobby by Turkish-American artist Refik Anadol.
The property has been designed with sustainability at its heart in accordance with the LEED Gold standards established by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), with the aim of achieving more than 24 per cent energy savings in building consumption and over 45 per cent reduction in indoor water usage. The extensive landscaped gardens feature many indigenous plants and trees from all over Turkey, as well as species from further afield including mushroom oaks, ironwood, stone pines and Chinese wisteria.
The F&B offering will comprise seven restaurants, all with a farm-to-table ethos and menus showcasing local and seasonal produce. Culinary highlights including outposts of the popular Caviar Kaspia and BeefBar, as well as an Italian concept restaurant overseen by the chef Alfredo Russo. An array of authentic local Turkish specialities will take centre stage in the property’s Twenty 4 restaurant, alongside other international favourites, while sweet treats will be available from the in-house chocolatier and ice cream parlour, serving home-made delights. Completing the F&B programme will be eight bars.
Wellness will be a key focus too, with a flagship 4,500m2 Maxx WellBeing Spa, comprising 20 treatment rooms, offering a menu of holistic and science-based treatments including Balneotherapy, flotation experiences like Nuvola massage and beauty-focused treatments. Also housed within the wellbeing space will be a dedicated Medi-Spa area with nine high-tech treatment rooms focusing on non-invasive anti-aging experiences such as an Ozone Sauna, a Sensory Deprivation Tank and Platelet-rich Plasma Injections (PRP).
Guests will be able to relax in the spa’s extensive hydro and thermal area featuring a herbal sauna and herbal essence steam room, infrared sauna, salt room, rain room, Kneippe Walk, a Hammam with dedicated Hammam treatment rooms and Tepedarium relaxation area.
Elsewhere, a 335m2 fitness studio will include a comprehensive range of Technogym cardiovascular and strength training equipment with expert instructors on hand to provide one-to-one training. This will be complemented by a roster of group classes available including reformer Pilates, yoga including aerial yoga, functional strength, breathwork and sound healing, Spinning and more. The resort will boast an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool too.
Also on hand is a visiting practitioner as well as a retreat programme ranging from three to 21 days based on the Maxx Royal 6 Elements of Wellbeing programmes, combining traditional anti-ageing protocols with holistic healing rituals.
As nutrition is such a core element of wellbeing, the signature Maxx Wellbeing restaurant will serve a choice of nourishing dishes, smoothies and health shots, all designed to boost wellbeing and immunity as well as supporting those guests following specific dietary plans. For those wishing to expand their repertoire of healthy recipes, there will also be a dedicated area for cooking classes.
Finally, Scorpios Beach Club is bringing its signature bohemian beach club scene from Mykonos to Turkey. Comprising its famous beach bar and restaurant, 12 luxury suites and a Ritual Space dedicated to wellbeing, the club will be positioned on its own private island, offering exclusives access and experiences to hotel guests.
