Kempinski to open Bali hilltop hideaway
Kempinski Hotels is expanding its Southeast Asian portfolio after signing a management agreement for a resort in Bali, set to open its doors in 2027. The Apurva Kempinski Ubud, Bali is the latest hospitality project from Indonesian real estate developer Panorama Indah Dewata.
The hotel, situated on a south-facing ridge overlooking an expanse of green, will feature interior designs by Rudy Dodo of Jakarta-based studio Trivium Design Group, who is also at the helm of the property’s architecture.
160 rooms and villas will cascade down jungle-covered slopes around an open-sided lobby lounge, while an infinity pool, rooftop lounge and bar will provide access to expansive jungle views. Rooms and suites will start at 60m², while Cliff Villas are complete with outdoor decks and private pools. Six 200m² villas will also find home nestled in the forest.
When it comes to dining, the new resort will feature a speciality restaurant, where panoramic views will complement Indonesian cuisine.

The resort will also feature a Balinese spa, nestled at the end of the ridge and overlooking the valley. At the heart of the resort, a tropical aviary will provide sanctuary for a range of exotic birdlife from Indonesia and beyond.
The Apurva Kempinski Ubud will mark the second Kempinski resort in Bali, following the opening of The Apurva Kempinski Bali in 2019.
