The Grove Redesigned Suite Bedroom

Martin Hulbert Design completes renovations at The Grove

The Grove has unveiled the results of a three-year refurbishment project led by Martin Hulbert Design. The property’s 18th century mansion has opened its doors with 12 reimagined suites and 13 bedrooms, all individually designed.

The new suites use handmade, natural materials and nature-inspired colour palettes, bridging the gap between the house and its extensive gardens. The redesign pays homage to the history of the building, making the most of original Georgian features including mouldings, ornate fireplaces and curved bay windows. Meanwhile, several of the rooms’ high ceilings have been accentuated by four-poster beds, with floor-length ivory linen curtains intended to add a relaxing softness.

“These rooms are magnificent, spacious and full of light,” say Martin Hulbert and Jay Grierson of Martin Hulbert Design. “The latest design scheme is a considered, timeless blend of old and new, which results in a calm, deeply comfortable and understated space – a place where you can escape to and feel unchallenged by the world outside.”

Eco-friendly and natural paints by Edward Bulmer have been used throughout, following the suites’ core colour themes of terracotta, blue and green, while all of the artwork across the spaces has been curated by Martin Hulbert himself. The collection features a mix of items sourced by Hulbert 20 years ago, as well as new, specially-commissioned pieces by contemporary British artists like Poppy Ellis and Andrew Viner.

The new suites at The Grove will join a range of existing amenities on site, including eight F&B venues, a spa, golf course and heated outdoor pool.
