Room2 Belfast opening doors in Summer 2023
Lamington Group is set to take its eco hometel brand outside of England for the first time, with the opening of room2 Belfast in Summer 2023.
The 175-room property will span across nine floors, also offering a cafe, tea room, meeting and event spaces, bar and restaurant, and a spacious lounge. With longer stays in mind, each bedroom will comprise a fully-equipped kitchenette and separate living space.
In line with Lamington Group’s commitment to sustainability, the fully electric room2 Belfast will feature occupancy-enabled rooms, powered by 100% renewable energy and infused with local materials and products throughout. The property’s design is focused around promoting a circular economy, featuring a café bar made with recycled glass, a reception desk created with soap bottles from room2 Southampton and carpets made from recycled fishing nets. The hotel will also use its own plastic shredder and moulder, with the intention to make new items from its plastic waste. With the aim to educate guests, room2 Belfast will feature a sustainability wall, explaining all the sustainable features throughout the property.
Going a step further to take care of guests’ wellness, the new Belfast hotel will measure air quality, and has been designed to provide adequate daylight and thermal comfort for guests, while incorporating biophilic elements to create a positive connection to nature.
“We are so excited to expand our portfolio and open our biggest hometel to date in the vibrant city of Belfast,” says Michelle Thomas, Lamington Group’s New Openings Manager. “We want our hometel to provide a place of comfort for both locals and tourists, further making our mark in the hometel sector of the hospitality industry.”
