Six Senses to join Amaala development
A new Six Senses property has been announced, set for the shores of Saudi Arabia as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 program. Six Senses Amaala will join a host of other hospitality and leisure offerings in Red Sea Global’s Amaala development.
With architecture by U+A and interiors by Studio Carter, the site will combine 64 rooms, six suites, 30 villas and 25 branded residences. The space will be inspired by the region’s traditional coastal villages, seamlessly integrating with its surroundings and using locally-sourced materials.
The central feature of the site will be the Mesa, which will showcase striking overhangs and caves in a nod to the area’s ancient history. The site will open up onto the beaches of Hijaz Cove at its north, while moving to the south will lead guests to natural rock pools, pocket beaches and a spa, which will be set up inside a private cove. The spa’s facilities will include a cryotherapy chamber, longevity clinic, infrared saunas, herbal steam rooms, salt rooms, vitality pools and ice baths. A Watsu pool, sound dome, yoga platform and multi-sensory relaxation areas will also be available for guests to use.
Other amenities across the resort will include a coffee roastery, bakery, water bar and shisha tea house, while prayer rooms and communal lounges will also be open to guests. Crafted in line with the Eat With Six Senses philosophy of natural, local and sustainable ingredients will also be an array of F&B offerings, including all-day-dining venues with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influences, a signature Southeast Asian restaurant, a juice bar and fermentation rooms.
“We are connected by a shared commitment to the practice, appreciation, and advancement of arts and culture, wellness and environmental preservation,” says Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses. “Six Senses Amaala is part of a holistic hub for the arts, a leading diving destination, an extension of the Mediterranean yachting corridors, and an integrated wellness community, all of which we hope inspires guests to embark on transformative personal journeys.”
With sustainability at the resort’s core, a ban on single-use plastics will run alongside the use of a dedicated desalination plant. Meanwhile, waste water and organic waste will be used on the site’s organic farm.
John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, the developer behind the Amaala development, adds: “I am delighted to announce this partnership based on shared values with such an iconic brand. The resort is situated within one of the most dramatic landscapes along Triple Bay, with a stunning backdrop of the bay itself and panoramic views of the pristine Red Sea coast. This announcement also comes at an exciting time as we are close to welcoming the first guests to Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea, which will open in the coming months. Our growing relationship with the Six Senses brand across our expanding portfolio reflects our belief in the quality of operations they bring to every property, and our shared commitment to protecting and enhancing the environment.”
Six Senses Amaala is set to open as part of the first phase of the Triple Bay development. Upon completion, Amaala will be home to more than 3,000 hotel rooms across 25 hotels, and approximately 900 luxury residential villas, apartments and estate homes.
