IHG expanding Kimpton brand with Marbella signing
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella, which will open following extensive refurbishment of the existing site.
Before the new Kimpton property opens its doors, the hotel will be undergoing renovations to transform it from the former The Hotel Los Monteros – Spa & Golf Resort Marbella, which has been closed since late 2022. The new 178-key hotel will be operated by IHG under a hotel management agreement with Monterotel.
In addition to its guestrooms and suites, Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella will comprise four restaurants and bars, as well as a range of leisure spaces including two swimming pools, tennis courts, a gym and spa. For those travelling for business, four meeting areas totalling 1,260 m² will be available to use.
The agreement marks the latest milestone in IHG’s rapid European expansion, with the Kimpton brand now boasting three Spanish hotels in its portfolio. “We are delighted to have grown our Kimpton brand portfolio in Spain to three properties with the signing of Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella,” says Willemijn Geels, VP Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “We can’t wait to complete the full renovation of this outstanding hotel, and begin to welcome guests in the next few years.
