Wayfinder Waikiki, a new boutique lifestyle hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii, has officially opened its doors, after a complete reimagination led by Dovetail + Co. The second Wayfinder property under Dovetail + Co, the new hotel comprises 228 rooms, as well as a range of food and beverage, entertainment and retail venues.

Honolulu-based design studio, The Vanguard Theory, has designed the hotel’s interiors to embrace the Brutalist architecture of the building’s roots, bringing the space to life with tropical touches and bright colours and patterns, alongside lush foliage. The property’s design celebrates the rich diversity of Hawaii, with native Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Filipino and European details blended together throughout.

Additional amenities across the Honolulu property take the form of a 70-foot saltwater lagoon pool, a tropical speakeasy and pool bar named Lost + Found, and B-Side, a lite fare lobby coffee bar. The on-site restaurant, the second location of Redfish Poke Bar by Foodland, will be open all day offering made-to-order poke creations.

“We’re so excited to be opening our second Wayfinder hotel in the dynamic neighbourhood of Waikiki,” said Phil Hospod, CEO and founder of Dovetail + Co. “Wayfinder Waikiki has been a project we’ve been carefully curating and crafting with talented local based collaborators since its inception to offer a truly unique, boutique hotel and we can’t wait for the community and visitors to check out what Wayfinder is all about. From our speakeasy pool bar at Lost + Found, best poke on island at Redfish, retail shop at B-Side, and eclectic guest programming, we have something to offer everyone.”
