The Signet Collection opens third hotel
British hospitality brand The Signet Collection has announced the opening of its third property, The Barnsdale in Rutland. The new opening joins both The Retreat at Elcot Park and The Mitre in Hampton Court in the brand’s existing portfolio.
Continuing The Signet Collection’s signature aesthetic, the 46-bed hotel’s design combines quirky British sensibility with a touch of elegance. Guestrooms and suites have been designed by London-based duo Taylor & Turner to align with the wider portfolio’s design aesthetic, nodding also in places to the property’s history as a hunting lodge.
Throughout the hotel’s guestrooms, rosemary, basil, sage and olive-toned wallpapers, cushions, curtains and trims are paired with soft terracotta red tables, dusty pink headboards, dark mahogany antique drawers and walnut bedside tables.
Outside of guestrooms are a range of amenities, including a brasserie – named 1760 after the year the original lodge was built – a collection of two and three-bed self-catering accommodations, numerous private dining rooms and a courtyard garden with Whispering Angel bar. Further outdoor spaces include a boule pit, croquet lawn and kitchen garden, alongside an events barn with a capacity of up to 150 people.
“Rutland is one of England’s hidden gems and we feel very lucky to now have a boutique hotel in this small but mighty county,” comments Hector Ross, founder of The Signet Collection. “Perfectly poised above Rutland Water and equipped with a fantastic Rutland born and bred team, The Barnsdale has been beautifully reimagined and revitalised over the past six months and I can’t wait for all to see!”
Various new additions are set to be added to the property later in the year, including a multi-use events barn, and a Signet Spa – boasting an indoor pool, mud rasul, salt flotation room, steamroom, sauna and beauty salon, alongside three treatment rooms.
