IHG expands French portfolio with château acquisition
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of InterContinental Chantilly – Château Mont Royal – the latest château property within its growing Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in France.
Situated just 40km from the French capital, the historic 107-key château has been signed under a management agreement with Groupe BMF and Groupe PFH. The hotel will begin welcoming guests in 2024, following renovation, upon which it is set to become the brand’s flagship hotel in France.
Built in the early 20th century and showcasing Louis XVI-style architecture, InterContinental Chantilly – Château Mont Royal will comprise two restaurants, a bar and summer terrace, as well as 11 meeting rooms. Wellness offerings meanwhile will take the form of a gym, sauna, jacuzzi and treatment rooms, alongside an indoor swimming pool and tennis court.
“In signing InterContinental Chantilly – Château Mont Royal, we are delighted to have brought another luxurious property to our portfolio in France, through which we’ll further enhance the longstanding legacy of the world’s oldest luxury hotel brand,” says Willemijn Geels, VP Development Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts. “Adding another landmark hotel in one of Europe’s most desired destinations is a proud moment for everyone at IHG. We’re delighted to be maintaining the momentum of our Luxury & Lifestyle growth and demonstrate our commitment to growing our portfolio in European leisure destinations.”
The opening will mark IHG’s third luxury opening in France in the past five years, following InterContinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu in 2019, and Kimpton Paris St Honoré in 2021.
