W Hotels will make its debut in Italy’s fashion capital in autumn 2023, with the opening of W Milan. Owned by Gruppo Statuto and managed by Marriott International, the hotel will reside in Piazzetta Bossi, just behind the renowned Teatro alla Scala.

116 guestrooms, including a number of suites, will make up the hotel’s interiors, which will capture the essence of Milan through their colours, materials and finishings. As for the exterior, Studio Urquiola has been responsible for reinterpreting the Italian Rationalist architecture of the building, originally constructed in the 1950s.

The hotel will host an eclectic mix of dining destinations, including Japanese restaurant Odachi, and an Italian dining experience – led by Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Berton – at Scena. Meanwhile, W Lounge will be a space at the heart of the hotel for guests to socialise over Milanese light bites and live performances. 

A standout feature of the new W Hotels property will be its rooftop, complete with a pool and lounge areas, while the rooftop’s sky-bar, Aria, will serve food and cocktails to the soundtrack of DJ sets.
