Hyatt makes debut in Portugal
The opening of Hyatt Regency Lisbon marks Hyatt’s debut in Portugal, as the group continues its expansion with a 5-star property in another European capital.
Located along the banks of the Tagus River, the 204-room hotel comprises guestrooms and 105 suites with modern interiors and furnishings, some with balcony views over the river. Inspired by the location’s history, as well as contemporary influences from Lisbon, rooms use calming blues and blends of oak wood to compliment Portuguese architecture. Additional amenities in bathrooms include river fall showers, intended to connect guests even further with their natural surroundings. The largest offering in the property is the Regency 3 Bedroom Suite, which boasts a private balcony and separate living and dining areas.
“We’re excited to open Hyatt Regency Lisbon and bring a new charm to our historic capital,” comments Hélder Martins, General Manager at the hotel. “We are in a prime riverfront location, ideally situated to help our guests and World of Hyatt members explore the rich history and culture of Lisbon by day and night, safe in the knowledge that they will be greeted with Hyatt’s world-class, intuitive service from our team during their stay, in one of Europe’s most sought-after locations.”
Hyatt Regency Lisbon houses multiple F&B outlets, including grand-café style restaurant and bar Viseversa, an all-day dining spot, and Zest, a venue which faces the property’s garden and serves up healthy plates made with local ingredients. The hotel is also set to welcome a fine dining restaurant in the coming months, a space which will be open to the public and will include rooftop seating.
As for additional communal spaces, the hotel’s six meeting areas provide up to 420m² of function space, including a 22m² main room which can be divided up into four separate boardrooms where needed. For a different event space, the hotel allows access to its mezzanine, a multifunctional space with direct access to the outdoor garden.
Finally, the hotel is home to a spa, named Serenity – The Art of Wellbeing. Here, guests will have access to a range of wellness facilities, which will run in addition to two fitness studios and a gym equipped with Technogym facilities.
