Red Sea Global (RSG) has announced that a new Four Seasons resort will join its upcoming beachside destination.
Set along the western coast of Saudi Arabia, the development – known as The Red Sea – will be built upon the natural islands and lagoons that stretch across 200 kilometres of coastline. The new Four Seasons property will be located on Shura Island, which will be the central hub of the development and home to a yacht marina, leisure and lifestyle facilities, as well as retail offerings and an 18-hole golf course.
Designed by Foster + Partners, the resort will comprise approximately 149 guestrooms and suites, all with views over the ocean. Beyond its guestrooms, the site will feature six restaurants and lounge outlets, meeting and event spaces and a marine discovery centre. As for health and wellness, the hotel will be kitted out with a full-service spa with a hammam, tennis courts and three outdoor pools. Also currently under development is the resort’s own airport, to facilitate travel to the site with ease.
“As we continue to expand Four Seasons presence in the region, our new project in the Red Sea will be one of our first resorts in the Kingdom, blending the best of beachside travel with the natural and cultural wonders of Saudi Arabia,” says Bart Carnahan, President of Global Business Development and Portfolio Management at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. “We are incredibly proud to be part of this impressive and visionary development by RSG and look forward to inviting guests to explore our new resort within such a beautiful and storied destination.”
The Red Sea destination is being constructed with sustainable practices at its core, including the utilisation of a marine spatial spanning simulation to model the environmental impact on the location. The destination will rely on renewable energy, while expansive conservation zones will be mapped out to further minimise environmental impact.
John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, comments: “This new destination provides the next generation of travellers with an incredible opportunity to discover what Saudi Arabia has to offer, building on its historic and cultural significance, while highlighting the exceptional natural beauty of the region.”
Four Seasons’ latest project in The Red Sea will join a growing collection of properties in the Saudi Arabia, including Four Seasons Riyadh at Kingdom Centre, and upcoming sites in Diriyah and Jeddah at the Corniche.
