Habitas brings Caravan concept to Dakhla
Global eco-hospitality group Habitas has opened its second property in Morocco. Set on the shore of Dakhla lagoon, Caravan Dakhla’s arrival follows the success of Habitas’ Moroccan desert retreat, Caravan Agafay.
Varying in size and view, the property’s 24 guestrooms take inspiration from the surrounding landscape and Moroccan culture. Traditional Riad-style rooms with outdoor showers are available, or modern villas and lodges with intricate design touches and patio decks.
Beyond guestrooms, the hotel comprises a locally-inspired restaurant and bar, swimming pool, yoga and wellness centre, outdoor cinema, barrel sauna, cold plunge, and Habitas’ signature agora communal gathering spaces.
Renowned as a destination for kiteboarders, windsurfers and surfers, Dakhla is the ideal setting for Habitas’ newest property – an immersive experience aligned with the group’s key pillars of adventure, music, wellness, food, art, culture and learning.
Caravan Dakhla offers its own kitesurf school, in collaboration with kitesurf brand Naish. The school is accompanied by a Surf Wellness Clinic, with various treatments and sports-focused activities on offer.
“Each Habitas location taps into our core values of offering unique and transformative travel experiences, with Dakhla offering something entirely different due to its connection with the lagoon,” says Oliver Ripley, co-founder and CEO of Habitas. “We’re planning to launch additional homes in Morocco in equally diverse settings – more to follow on this.”
