Soho House to open second site in Scandinavia

Soho House is set to launch its second property in Scandinavia this November with the opening of Soho House Stockholm.

Situated in Majorsgatan, close to many of Stockholm’s restaurants, cafes and shops and a stone’s throw away from Östermalms Saluhall, the house will occupy a former Methodist church – a first for the brand – and stretch over three floors, with original architectural features carefully maintained. The members’ club space on the first floor, for instance, will boast high ceilings from its days as a main church hall in 1894.

Soho House Design will introduce a colour palette filled with deep and soulful tones, accented by bespoke patterned fabrics commissioned from local Swedish designers, complimentary of the historic architecture throughout. The ambience will be comfortable and classic, with traditional Scandinavian vintage furniture and lighting sourced and lovingly restored to showcase Scandinavians iconic influence on contemporary design.

Overlooking the club space, the mezzanine provides an intimate location for drinks in the church’s vaulted ceiling. Downstairs meanwhile, the library is a Soho House-inspired Swedish Drawing Room, with a bar feature in the centre of the room crafted from multi-coloured lacquered panels and a thick brass top.

Towards the rear of the downstairs space is Club Cecconi’s, which will serve members and guests with a rotating menu of authentic, Northern Italian dishes including fresh, handmade pasta. Outside, the private courtyard features dining and lounge seating areas surrounded by lush greenery.

Soho House Stockholm has its own identity, but also creates a home away from home for all members. Local House membership gives access to Soho House Stockholm and Every House membership allows members to visit Soho Houses across the world. Members also have access to the SH.APP (Soho House app) to connect with other members wherever they are in the world.
