Menorca to welcome Villa Le Blanc this July
Meliá Hotels International is set to launch a new eco-conscious hotel on the island of Menorca next month.
Operated by Gran Meliá and becoming a member of Leading Hotels of the World, Villa Le Blanc Gran Meliá aims to be the brand’s first prototype of a carbon-neutral resort by reducing its scope 1 and 2 emissions by 87% thanks to new efficient facilities, and offsetting the remaining 13% of emissions. The property will also feature an efficient energy management system based on the use of renewable energy, including biomass, solar or geothermal, while home-automation technology is also set to reduce energy and water consumption.
The renovation of what was once the Sol Beach House Hotel is led by in-house architect Álvaro Sans and combines simple and luxury contemporary design, a white and blue colour palette, and large terraces and porches to merge the indoor/outdoor spaces. There will be a total of 159 rooms, including 14 Premium Rooms and 86 Supreme Rooms, and for ultra-luxe, The Penthouse Suite, the Swim-Up Master Suite and Presidential Suite offer a wide range of luxury amenities, combined with sea views from private balconies and pools.
Named European Gastronomic Region in 2022, Menorca is expected to be an F&B hotspot this summer and as such, the hotel’s four dining venues – facing the sea or up on the hotel’s rooftop with panoramic views – pay tribute to local produce, using fresh ingredients from the island’s farms to serve cuisine, cocktails and coffee.
Villa Le Blanc will also work with local expert Joan Canals for its distribution network and partner with destination favourite S’Amarador Restaurant, situated at the heart of Menorca’s port of Ciutadella, which specialises in seafood and fish, rice and Menorcan lobster stews using traditional fishing arts and techniques.
On the wellbeing front, the hotel has partnered Anne Semonin Paris to create treatments and experiences based on vegan cosmetics and natural products. This is Semonin’s third spa in Spain, joining others in select locations in the world’s most exclusive hotels, such as Japan, Hong Kong, Doha, Greece and the Maldives.
Villa Le Blanc is also launching a new line of in-room amenities, with bathroom products and aromas designed by artisan perfumers from Carner Barcelona, immersing guest’s senses in the Mediterranean.
