Singapore’s hotel market is poised for a steady rebound over the coming years as border restrictions continue to ease and vaccination programmes roll out worldwide. The city-state boasts a robust pipeline comprising both boutique projects and powerhouses from key international players such as Marriott and Accor.
According to pipeline data collected by Tophotelprojects, 21 projects totalling 8,375 rooms are currently in the works for Singapore. Of the new arrivals, 10 will join the five-star segment, while 10 will occupy the four-star category with one three-star project on the boards.
The database indicates that no fewer than eight projects are scheduled to open before the end of the year, nine are slated for 2023, one on the way in 2024 and two are on course to debut in 2025.

The Standard, Singapore
Designed by homegrown architecture firm DP Architects, The Standard Singapore will feature 143 rooms with interiors crafted by Ministry of Design. Other highlights across the hotel include The Standard’s signature restaurant, a rich arts and cultural programme, as well as an infinity swimming pool and bar that will be set within a lush botanical courtyard. Singapore represents the latest destination for the brand in Southeast Asia, following The Standard Hua Hin and The Standard Bangkok Mahanakhon.

Mondrian Singapore
Singapore’s first Mondrian hotel will make its debut in 2023. Developed by Craig Road Property Holdings, the hotel will feature 300 guest rooms and suites housed across several heritage shophouses. DP Architects and Studio Carter will work together to design the three-storey property and infuse it with a contemporary twist alongside heritage-inspired design elements. Other standout highlights in the works within the hotel include restaurants, a speakeasy bar with a hidden entrance, and a rooftop pool.

Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa Singapore
Designed by Yabu Pushelberg, the upcoming Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa Singapore is set to become the first villa-only hotel in Singapore, with 61 villas spread across 100,000sqm of verdant tropical gardens. Villas will range in size between 260sqm for one-bedroom villas to 450sqm for four-bedroom villas; each exclusive room will feature a private swimming pool and terrace area that’s shrouded by nature.

The zero-waste hotel will feature four special levels dedicated to verdant gardens and lush greenery. Besides the sky terraces, the hotel also offers 350 rooms, a gym, swimming pool, bars and restaurants and an exclusive club lounge.
