Coppa Club expands to the Surrey Hills
Opening on 3 May in the leafy streets of Haslemere near the Surrey Hills, The Georgian, Coppa Club comprises 13 rooms, a garden terrace with a large fire pit, three igloos and several event venues. The property also features a café, bar, restaurant, lounge and private dining space, available from morning to night.
Situated in a traditional Grade II listed building, the property channels its own distinct character and identity, taking inspiration from the Tudor and Georgian architectural movements from which it takes its name. The interiors are a combination of traditional and contemporary styles, fusing references to the building’s history with modernist flares reflected through the striking art pieces that are dotted throughout the property.
Interior details include a Georgian-inspired patterned floor in the Entrance Bar; ‘Bonbon’ lanterns in the restaurant that create an atmospheric glow; a snug with terracotta floor tiles and panelling to match; and an encaustic tiled fireplace. In the Bar Lounge meanwhile, a snug feel is emulated through dark panelling.
“For years, private members’ clubs have monopolised the market as spaces for people to stay all day, from working to relaxing and this is something we are starting to change,” says Yishay Malkov, CEO of Coppa Club. “We pride ourselves in providing people with a personalised experience, a place where they can work, eat, drink, meet or relax – from first thing in the morning till late at night. We are looking forward to becoming part of the local community and providing something for everyone here in Haslemere.”
A seasonal menu features modern takes on British and Mediterranean classics, from a 10oz ribeye to cauliflower shawarma to fresh pasta and sourdough pizza. Its healthy specials meanwhile include sea reared trout on a plancha, pea, broad bean and courgette bruschetta, and a chopped green goddess salad.
For those looking to add flair to their meals, there’s an inventive cocktail menu with no and low cocktails on offer in partnership with Trip CBD and Crossip. A Coppa favourite is the Peach Trip cocktail, curated with Trip peach and ginger CBD infused oil and apple juice. Non-alcoholic cocktails include the Sanguinello Spritz – a tasty combination of Crossip Pure Hibiscus, Fever Tree blood orange soda, rosemary and a citrus twist.
With ten locations in the South-East and West of England, Coppa Club evokes a private members’ club feel, without any members club fees. Each venue reflects its individual location and offers an informal, relaxed atmosphere, with Streatley-on-Thames and Sonning-On-Thames offering riverside hotel rooms too.
