First Look: One Hundred Shoreditch, London
Design-led East London hotel One Hundred Shoreditch is set to open its doors this Friday, marking the beginning of a year-round events programme spanning music, art, fashion, design and wellbeing.
Overhauled by Lore Group’s Creative Director Jacu Strauss, the 258-room hotel comprises six F&B spaces including a seafood restaurant and wine bar, a cocktail bar, and a roof terrace plus five event spaces.
Creative hub, gallery and art space The Workshop will be partnering with Nelly Duff, the East End art institution on London’s Columbia Road, to showcase global contemporary, urban print and street art through rotating exhibitions, events and pop-up retail that bring the neighbourhood’s cultural scene to life.
Also marking the arrival is Seed Library, a laid-back cocktail bar by Mr Lyan, which will welcome Love Vinyl for a takeover on Friday 4 March. This will be followed by London-based DJ Alena Arpels, whose selection of rare groove, funk, soul, disco and jazz-funk records will play in the basement bar on Saturday 5 March.
The Wine Bar at Goddard & Gibbs, OHS’s signature restaurant, has also partnered with local wine store Passione Vino on guest wines by the bottle and glass, with future wine events set to feature the brand too.
To celebrate International Women’s Day on Tuesday 8 March, a ‘Women in Comedy’ panel discussion hosted at the property will feature some of the most exciting names from the female comedy world. The event will aim to raise money for the hotel’s chosen charity, Refuge – who provide specialist support to those experiencing domestic violence and abuse, while OHS is also collaborating with Spitalfields Crypt Trust – an East London charity focused on helping people facing homelessness and addiction transform their lives.
A revolving programme of drop-in wellness events meanwhile kicks off with a probiotics wellbeing initiative in partnership with The Gut Stuff, adding to the hotel’s Peloton studio and an in-room Peloton offering.
