25hours to expand Italian portfolio in Trieste
Ennismore has entered exclusive negotiations with KNSA Hospitality and P.V.V. Investments to open a 25hours property in Trieste, Italy. The strongly supported partnership will mark the city’s first lifestyle hotel.
Owned by P.V.V. Investments – an affiliate of JP Immobilien – the newest home for 25hours will be located in Palazzo Compartimentale on Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Ennismore is planning a variety of offerings for the 160-room hotel, including a restaurant opening onto the piazza, a bar and café, a rooftop wellness area, a cinema and event spaces. And in a first for the brand, a 25hours Beachclub will take pride of place at the harbour.
25hours Trieste is set to arrive in 2025 following extensive renovations, which have begun on the façade. The development will also be home to luxury residences and a mix of local stores on the ground floor. Built in 1895 by Raimondo Sagors for the Austrian Lloyd Employee Pension Institute, it has since been used by the Austrian Railways, the consulates of Argentina, Norway and Portugal, and a Red Cross Emergency room.
“We’re so excited that 25hours will bring a fresh hospitality approach to Trieste,” says Cédric Gobilliard, Brand COO of Ennismore. “With its rich culture and history, Trieste will serve as the perfect location for 25hours, which will take its inspiration from the history of the city as gateway to the world. The lifestyle segment of hospitality is seeing strong growth and bouncing back quicker, thanks to its F&B offering.”
Steffen Fox, CEO of KNSA Hospitality, adds: “Looking back at our very successful partnership at the 25hours hotel in Vienna, we are very proud to be able to realise this wonderful project together with our well-known partners from Vienna and Ennismore. We are convinced that we can create a very exciting destination and we are grateful that we have been given the opportunity to introduce Triest to travellers from all over the world.”
Daniel Jelitzka, MD of JP Immobilien, comments: “25hours is an innovative and locally based hotel concept that will have a positive impact on the immediate neighbourhood as well as on Trieste as a whole. Its low-threshold nature ensures that not only guests but also locals will meet and feel comfortable here. Special attention will also be paid here to the integration of the Piazza Vittorio Veneto in front of it. The development of Piazza Vittorio Veneto represents the first step of further investments in Trieste and northern Italy.”
Like all 25hours properties, this one will be individual and made-to-measure. Each has a soul inspired by its location and is shaped by its surroundings’ art, culture, gastronomy, and stories. 25hours Trieste will be the brand’s second in Italy, following the opening of Florence in 2021. 25hours currently has 14 operating hotels across Europe and the Middle East, with four in the pipeline including Copenhagen, coming later in 2022.
