The Standard reveals Ibiza interiors
Standard International has unveiled interior design details for The Standard Ibiza, which has begun taking reservations ahead of its April opening on Vara de Rey plaza in the heart of the island’s Old Town.
Embracing what The Standard loves about the island’s bohemian history, the 67-room hotel occupies a stark-white structure that forms the backdrop for bright, eclectic décor and lush landscaping. The building itself was conceived by Spanish architect Lázaro Rosa-Violán, with interiors designed by Oskar Kohnen in collaboration with The Standard’s in-house design team. Inside, the scheme celebrates the resurgence of energy that originally attracted so many to Ibiza and the rejuvenation of Flower Power with a chic 60’s vibe.
The hotel’s 67 guestrooms and suites, as well as its restaurants, will be open year-round. At street level, an eatery that spills out onto Vara de Ray will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, embracing local ingredients throughout its menu. Come evening, the venue will transform into an intimate nightlife experience – an alternative to the busy club scene that Ibiza has become known for. Up on the rooftop meanwhile, a late-night bar will feature a 15-metre swimming pool and offer views of the island from sunrise to sunset.
A separate building, Casa Privada, will be available for larger groups. Despite being equipped with its own private pool, bar, gym, lounge and 14 guestrooms – including two Terrace Suites with outdoor terraces and tubs – the hideaway is located just a block away from the hotel, meaning guests can use all the amenities.
“The Standard has always felt a strong connection to Ibiza, a shared appreciation for unabashed fun, the freedom to be who you are and the expectation of the unexpected,” says newly appointed CEO, Amber Asher. “This is an exciting day for us, marking one step closer to welcoming the first guests through our doors.”
The Standard Ibiza joins a renowned portfolio of hotels, including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, the Maldives, Hua Hin and an upcoming Asia flagship in Bangkok, which is slated to open in May 2022.
