Four Seasons gears up for Tamarindo opening
Debuting in early 2022, Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, México will be located on a secluded enclave along the Pacific Ocean in the state of Jalisco, between the towns of La Manzanilla and Barra de Navidad. Known as “Costalegre” or “Joy Coast”, the region is acclaimed for its private beaches, landscape and topography.
A collaboration between architecture and interior design firms Legorreta and Taller | Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo, the 157-room property – offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and enveloped by the surrounding jungle – will blend in with the natural surroundings using local materials and textures.
Elsewhere, four F&B venues will include an ocean-view bar and restaurant, a beach bar and grill, and a golf club restaurant. The grounds are also set to feature a David Fleming-designed, 18-hole golf course, as well as three pools, a full-service spa amid the jungle and a fitness centre. Rounding out the resort’s amenities are a young adults’ centre and lounge, a water sports centre, tennis courts and 4,000ft² of meeting space.
Located in a natural reserve 40 kilometres north of International Airport of Manzanillo-Costalegre, the resort will form part of the El Tamarindo development, a 1,200-hectare masterplan comprising multiple beaches and private coves. The site will be designed around elevations ranging from sea level to 120 metres above it.
“As we grow the Four Seasons portfolio in Mexico, this project in Tamarindo is the ideal opportunity to do so, offering guests access to the natural wonder of the region, paired with Four Seasons’ renowned service and quality excellence,” says President and CEO John Davison. “We are fortunate to work with Paralelo 19, who have a deep understanding of the area and share our vision for creating the very best luxury experiences.”
Pedro Verea Hernandez, CEO of Paralelo 19, comments: “Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo will combine legendary Four Seasons service with a tropical oasis set within a captivating landscape, tranquil beaches and rocky cliffs descending into the Pacific Ocean and adjacent to a magnificent 18-hole golf course. We’re thrilled to be working with Four Seasons to create a luxury destination in one of Mexico’s best kept secrets.”
The hotel will join a growing collection of Four Seasons properties in Mexico, including Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Four Seasons Mexico City, and Four Seasons Resort & Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas.
