Dream Hotel Group unveils plans for Miami

Dream Hotel Group has announced plans to open a 165-key, 10-storey hotel as part of Riverside Wharf – a 200ft² development along the Miami River. Scheduled to break ground in 2022 and be completed by 2025, the project is being led by developer MV Real Estate Holdings in conjunction with Driftwood Capital, while Cube3 and Savino-Miller Design Studios are taking charge of the architectural design and landscaping respectively.

Located on 600 linear feet of water frontage, Dream Miami will comprise 165 guestrooms and suites, six dining and nightlife venues, and a 30,000ft² rooftop pool deck and nightclub with skyline views, becoming one of the largest in the city. The property will also offer a 10,000ft² event hall, health and wellness facilities, and a private marina capable of accommodating mega yachts for VIP guests. Currently operating on the riverfront site is the famous Wharf Miami restaurant, managed by local firm Breakwater Hospitality Group.

“There is a natural synergy between Dream Hotel Group and the city of Miami,” says CEO Jay Stein. “Our leading lifestyle brand continues to expand quickly, just like Miami, offering international hospitality, vibrant entertainment and one-of-a-kind experiences to local residents, business travellers and pleasure seekers across the globe. We are thrilled to take part in this extraordinary project and can’t wait to open our doors.”

“Our strategic partnership with Dream Hotel Group represents the values we share in contributing to the revitalisation of great cities,” says Alex Mantecon, CEO of MV Real Estate Holdings. “Dream Miami will be the centrepiece of this development and is the ideal catalyst to keep transforming the Miami River.”

Riverside Wharf reinterprets the Miami River into a vertical composition of flowing concrete forms carved by its natural paths and movement of water. Visitors traverse up through the levels, which provide vantage points of Downtown Miami and the river, drawing the urban entertainment out to the water’s edge and enriching the public riverwalk. Along the street edge meanwhile are a Corten steel façade and other curated materials, which pay homage to the working river’s history of rustic fishing vessels and lobster cages.

Christian Glauser Benz, Senior VP of Development for Dream Hotel Group, comments: “As a local resident of Miami, I have witnessed first-hand the remarkable evolution of this area. We worked tirelessly with Alex and his team to bring this vision to life, and we are truly honoured to be part of Miami River’s rebirth story.”

When complete, the $185 million mixed-use development will anchor the developing Miami River District, one of the city’s fastest growing downtown neighbourhoods with direct intracoastal access to the ocean. Its proximity to Miami’s business district and other market drivers like Brickell Ave, the Marlins Park, the FTX Arena and the Biscayne Bay will also establish the complex as an amenity-rich local hub and destination.

The announcement follows the recent signings of Dream Louisville, Dream Oklahoma City and Unscripted Oklahoma City and signals another exciting milestone in the continued growth and evolution of Dream Hotel Group and its portfolio of lifestyle brands. With 16 hotels open today and 20 new locations in various stages of development across the globe, the company remains one of the world’s fastest growing hotel brands.
