Penta illuminates the Radisson Collection Hotel Palazzo Touring Club
Penta, part of the Auralis Group, has supplied lighting pieces to the new Radisson Collection Hotel Palazzo Touring Club in Milan, conceived as a reference point for avant-garde tourism both in Italy and worldwide.
Emerging from the redevelopment and restoration of Palazzo Bertarelli, a building in late Art Nouveau style and the historical headquarters of Touring Club Italiano in Milan, the Radisson Collection Hotel, designed by Studio Marco Piva, features a number of creations by the group of companies headed by Andrea Citterio, which includes Penta, Castaldi and Arreoluce.
The contemporary ‘Made in Italy’ lamps selected for the project, poised between creativity, technological innovation and manufacturing excellence, seamlessly fit with all the other style choices made by Studio Marco Piva, whose renovation has brought the imposing 1915 building back to its original glory.
An example of this is the evocative cascade of light that crosses the entrance hall with its magnificent main staircase, generating striking sculptural lines obtained from the Yan lamps in two different sizes, featuring seven spheres with a 40 cm diameter and 26 with a 20 cm diameter. And again, the Enoki wall lamps with a custom bronze finish, have been selected to illuminate the corridors and highlight the entrances to the hotel’s 89 rooms, including a suite and a presidential suite. These lamps, reminiscent of a bell in their design, symbolise the departure toward a new destination. And then, there are the products created specifically for the building, such as a monumental, multifunctional lighting fixture, entirely custom-made by Studio Marco Piva, placed at the bar counter both as a lighting element and to house the glasses and bottles.
“We are delighted to have worked with Studio Marco Piva on such an important and interesting project as the new Radisson Collection Hotel Palazzo Touring Club in Milan,” comments CEO Andrea Citterio. “This has been an extremely invigorating collaboration for Penta, as well as an opportunity to promote the company’s extraordinary savoir-faire, its versatile products, and its ability to combine form and function, formal beauty and technological innovation.”
