Muza Lab redesigns Finolhu in the Maldives
Following a kaleidoscope-inspired transformation, Finolhu has reopened as the first member of the Design Hotels in the Maldives. Already known for its playful spirit, the resort has been refreshed by Muza Lab to offer casual beach club vibes and immersive programming in one of the Indian Ocean’s most stylish settings.
Translating to “sandbank”, the private island of Finolhu was acquired by Germany’s Seaside Collection in 2019 and is guided by a European-style hotel philosophy that embraces the types of carefree, beachside get-togethers typical of Ibiza and Mykonos, pairing hotspot nostalgia with cool contemporary surroundings on a paradise island – it’s also a tried and tested destination for celebrities like Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora.
Those seeking a more intimate getaway can escape to Finolhu’s Beach Bubble Tent, a fully-furnished transparent dome located at the end of a 1km stretch of beach, which comes with its own Bubble Butler.
“The resort has been layered with a beautiful array of patterns, geometry and colours,” say Muza Lab. “The materials, textures and finishes have been carefully curated to inspire guests, enrich their experience and most importantly make them smile.”
