1 Hotel & Homes Elounda Hills, a new sustainable sanctuary developed by Mirum and operated by Barry Sternlicht’s SH Hotels & Resorts, is set to open on the northeast coast of Crete in the summer of 2025.
Pairing ancient architecture with modern comforts, the property will blur the boundaries between interior and exterior thanks to organic, sustainably sourced materials that highlight the Cretan sunlight and the use of lush greenery and flora around every corner. In line with the brand’s overarching vision, guests will feel connected to the island, enriched by its history and inspired to protect and enhance the natural world.
The 135 hotel rooms and 178 branded residences and villas – to be developed in phases – will offer unobstructed mountain and sea views, while the resort’s architecture will mimic the curvature of the Elounda Hills and comprise swimming pools, outdoor leisure facilities and windy paths leading to the beach. Guest offerings include exclusive access to a dedicated marina and beach club, as well as a therapeutic spa and Mediterranean cuisine that channels the vivacious spirit of the island while celebrating its rich history.
