Architects, not Architecture

Architects, not Architecture set for London

During a time when travel is on hold for many, Architects, not Architecture is taking the design community on a virtual tour of the globe to visit a selection of cities and meet some of their most prominent architects.

The event aims to bring to the stage what people do not normally see, inviting well-known industry figures to discuss themselves rather than their award-winning international projects. Speakers talk of the path, influences and experiences that have brought them to where they are now, as well as diving deeper into their intellectual biography – making it possible to better understand their work without them even mentioning it.

Next up on May 6 are British architects Simon Allford and Catrina Stewart of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) and Office S&M respectively. The creative duo will be participating live from London, the latest destination on the event calendar following broadcasts from Singapore, New York, Beijing and Los Angeles.

Previous speakers have included the likes of Lyndon Neri, Founding Partner of Neri&Hu; Ma Yansong, founder of MAD Architects; Thomas Heatherwick of his eponymous firm Heatherwick Studio; Maria Warner Wong, co-founder of WOW Architects; and Richard Hassell, co-founder of architecture practice WOHA.
