A rendering of a guestroom at Hotel Coreum in Germany

Atelier 522 reveals details for Hotel Coreum

The Coreum in Stockstadt am Rhein is an innovation, training and event centre that connects people and companies in the construction, handling and recycling industries worldwide. Now, German design agency Atelier 522 is adding a 134-room hotel for those wishing to stay the night after a busy day of activities.

Opening in 2022, the property will feature modern, clean architecture and interior design befitting of its location. A menhir – or standing stone – acts as a focal point at the entrance, while the façade is clad in slender, anthracite-coloured Eternit panels – combined with room windows crafted from sustainable wood.

Upstairs, the hotel’s 134 guestrooms – including apartments –  blend muted, warm and earthy tones such as sand and dark green with homogeneous materials. The colour palette is derived from the various building materials used in the adjacent buildings, while the construction theme is reflected in the functionality of the rooms; guests won’t find any unnecessary bells and whistles here, rather well thought-out minimalism.

Elsewhere, walls and ceilings made of exposed concrete and natural stone form a reception counter – despite its harsh environment, Hotel Coreum creates space for quiet retreat – while a library, piano, play lounge and yoga sessions create a relaxing balance from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding construction site.

As an innovation and communication platform, The Coreum serves an international field of partners and customers 365 days a year, making it the ideal breeding ground for a hotel catered to business travellers.
