David Rockwell designs outdoor seating collection for Paola Lenti
David Rockwell and his team at Rockwell Group have designed a new collection of outdoor seating for Italian manufacturer Paola Lenti. The collection aims at reimagining contract outdoor furniture, keeping in mind the new need for year-round hospitality furniture.
The Elba Chair is a stackable pull-up chair with a frame made of stainless-steel tubing with a powder-coated colour finish and matching rivets. The unadorned seats are crafted in Paola Lenti’s proprietary moulded plastic material – Diade – which gives the shaped planks an upholstered look, with embedded woven synthetic yarns to produce a heterogeneous colour structure and appealing texture.
Diade is completely recyclable and available in several colours, made unique by the addition of Twiggy, a high-tech yarn designed and produced exclusively by Paola Lenti. The yarn designs the moulded surfaces differently, depending on the colour and the kind of weave used, giving Diade surfaces an amazing textile appearance.
With hospitality market needs in mind, Rockwell Group added a bar stool and a lounge chair with the same features as the Elba chair and are also available in the wide range of colours of Diade.
Manufactured in Italy, the Elba Chair is stackable and easy to transport, ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
