British textile group Camira has unveiled Craggan Flax, an updated twist on the classic Craggan fabric.

Woven from a natural blend of wool and flax, the new eco-friendly textile is deeply textured and thickly woven, retaining the raw appeal of its natural composition, whilst possessing the contemporary aesthetic and stylised texture of a chunky weave.

Craggan Flax both embraces the natural character of its pure wool predecessor and incorporates the innate performance properties of bast fibres, achieving the commercial FR certification for UK public spaces – Crib 5 Medium Hazard – without the need for chemical post treatment.

Lynn Kingdon, Head of Creative at Camira, comments: “We’re delighted to launch this new take on a beloved fabric, we’ve worked hard to ensure Craggan Flax is the perfect fit for contemporary commercial and residential interiors in both its high-performance composition and expanded colour palette – introducing a number of deeply saturated brights, alongside the timeless neutrals which have made Craggan such an enduringly popular art of our portfolio.”

She adds: “With a long history in creating fabrics from renewable, natural materials, it is incredibly important to us that we continue to develop our offering of sustainable fabrics – and Craggan Flax is a truly beautiful addition to the collection.”
