Architecture and interior design studio ICA have revealed the new design of DoubleTree Hilton in Bath.
The former Hilton Bath City Hotel has unveiled its redesign, following a renovation and remodelling of the architecture and interiors.
In line with the hotel’s rebrand, ICA have undertaken a full refurbishment of all guestrooms and public areas, including the formation of a ‘secret garden’ – a new botanical team room overlooking the Pulteney Bridge and the River Avon with an external terrace featuring suspended foliage.
A reworking of the ground floor plan has opened up the property, providing an improved connection to the street life. A new bar and terrace activate the frontage and contribute to the vibrant street life.
The proposed interiors draw inspiration from Bath’s rich history – a designated UNESCO World Heritage site noted for its Roman-built Thermal Baths, Georgian set-piece town planning, as well as being the home of Jane Austen.
“Taking its inspiration from the heritage of Bath, the interior will create a visual connection for guests – through subtle nods – to a bygone age of elegance,” explains Lead Interior Designer Ashley McCabe. “Layers of discovery woven through the design celebrate the charm and character of the locality.”
ICA is a Glasgow-based architecture and interior design studio, specialising in hotel design and delivery. The studio has also been appointed as architects for a suite of Hilton projects, including Hilton Belfast and Hilton Islington.
