GlamPure wins German Design Award 2021
Italian wallcovering manufacturer Glamora has received double recognition for its organic wallcovering GlamPure at the German Design Award 2021.
Composed entirely of organic raw materials, GlamPure has been awarded in the category ‘Excellent Product Design – Material and Surfaces’ by the jury “for its outstanding design quality”. The wallcovering also received a Special Mentioning in the ‘Eco Design’ category.
GlamPure is a compostable covering, made of 65% European linen fibres and 35% viscose. The technical qualities and aesthetic content make it a suitable solution to the application in residential bio-architecture and hospitality contexts.
Inspired by the Japanese paper technique of washi, the collection is characterised by the stratification of natural elements or light textures treated as impalpable overlapped gauzes. The walls design spaces inhabited by nature, in a range of delicate colours and earthy shades.
Interactions of light and shadow, projections and transparencies of leaves and flowers hover over the surface, proposing a holistic approach to decor in line with the principles of biophilic design, inviting people to rediscover their affinity with the natural world.
