Paint brand Dulux has revealed Brave Ground as 2021’s Colour of the Year.
Exhibiting an earthy beige hue, the shade was selected for its ability to promote stability, growth and potential, providing a firm foundation for creativity in interiors.
“This is the mother earth of colours; it’s organic, familiar and versatile,” comments Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director at Dulux. “It’s also trustworthy and supportive of all the other colours in the spectrum.”
The Colour of the Year typically takes into consideration social, cultural and design trends from across the globe, and this year’s shade has very much taken the impacts of the pandemic into consideration.
“Despite Covid-19, the course of our future is still the same,” adds Shillingford. “The mood of the moment is to have courage, the courage to change.”
Brave Ground was announced as the 2021 Colour of the Year alongside four inspiring colour palettes: Expressive, Trust, Timeless and Earth.
