Moooi Wallcovering and Arte have launched a new range of wallcoverings, Moooi Tokyo Blue.
The capsule collection, inspired by the Indigo Macaque, is the latest addition to Moooi’s Extinct Animals family.
Moooi Tokyo Blue comprises five different designs that interpret Japan’s beautiful and versatile nature and culture.
Indigo Macaque is a wallcovering made from denim, incorporating coloured embroidery. The design displays a playful scene of Indigo Macaque families bathing in hot springs at the foot of the Japanese mountains.
Shoji Blossom incorporates images of cherry blossoms and straight lines, resembling the minimalist feel of Japanese Shoji screens. This monotone 3D wallcovering is made from denim or felted wool to radiate tranquillity.
Tie-Tami depicts the rich and versatile colours of a sunset. This jute and raffia wallcovering honours ancient Japanese tatami-mats and pictures abstract clouds that are drifting by.
Lucky O’s design comprises overlapping O’s, created from veneer marquetry inlay, resembling the rolling waves of the ocean. The depicted water waves represent good luck, power and resilience.
Rendezvous Tokyo Blue – printed on a soft and velvety fabric with a denim texture – showcases a lush forest. Upon closer inspection, one may spot Indigo Macaques dressed in traditional kimonos hidden between the abundance of exotic flowers.
