The Slate Phuket teams up with Central Saint Martins College
The Slate Phuket has partnered with Central Saint Martins College for its annual Artist in Residence programme, in which one of the school’s graduates will exhibit their works of art at the hotel for up to six months.
Designed by Bill Bensley, The Slate is an art-inspired beachfront property located on the shores and coral sands of Nai Yang Beach, Phuket in Thailand.
Its design blends art and illusion, as well as industrial and whimsical elements.
For the duration of the programme, The Slate will act as a live studio whereby students may perfect their work, and guests may interact with them and purchase original works created in real time.
Complimentary cocktail evenings and talks with the student will also take place, allowing guests to understand more about the artist’s style of work, personal life, career and artistic inspiration.
In doing this collaboration, The Slate Phuket and Central Saint Martins College hope to prove that art can break down geographical, cultural and social barriers, whilst also providing a platform for an up-and-coming artist.
