Aston Design bolsters Singapore office

Aston Design has appointed Aldwin Ong as Creative Director at its Singapore office.

The Singapore- and Stockholm-based hospitality design consultancy said that Ong, who has more than 20 years’ experience in architecture and interior design in the hospitality sector, will lead the Singapore studio’s creative team and report to Managing Director David Edwards.

Previously a Design Director and Principal for almost a decade at Wilson Associates, Ong has a reputation for bringing fresh ideas to projects of diverse scales and styles across Asia-Pacific and beyond. Aston Design added that Aldwin’s commitment to innovative design and strong, poetic narratives has resulted in ground-breaking concepts that have inspired brand transformation and results-driven success for clients and partners, including many of the world’s most recognised hospitality brands and operators, such as Marriott, Accor, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt, as well as numerous independents.

Edwards says: “We’re delighted to welcome Aldwin to our team at Aston Design. He has a deep passion and a proven talent for visualising innovative concepts and then bringing them to life.

“He is renowned for creating memorable experiences and inspiring environments for many of the world’s leading hotel chains, both for established brands and for up-and-coming flags. I’m confident Aldwin will be an important asset as we continue our focus on delivering best-in-class design consultancy for the hospitality industry across Asia and beyond.”

Ong adds: “I’m delighted to join Aston Design in this exciting period of growth for the company.

“I look forward to helping Aston’s clients maximise the potential of every one of their projects, while always striving to push boundaries and to break away from stereotypes, through provocative design infused with a sophisticated wit. Aston’s talented creative team and I are firmly aligned in the belief that everything starts with a question – why not?”
