Hilton Bath City Hotel set for rebrand
Hilton Bath City Hotel is set to be rebranded as DoubleTree by Hilton Bath, with Glasgow-based firm ICA appointed to renovate and remodel the architecture and interiors. Due for completion in May 2020, the property will feature fully-refurbished guestrooms and public areas, including the formation of a “secret garden” — a new botanical tearoom and external terrace with suspended foliage overlooking the Pulteney Bridge and the River Avon.
The refined opulence of the proposed interiors pays homage to the rich heritage of Bath, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site noted for its Roman-built Thermal Baths and Pump Room, elegant Georgian set-piece town planning and for being home to Jane Austen.
“Taking its inspiration from the heritage of Bath, the interior scheme will create a visual connection for guests — through subtle nods — to a bygone age of elegance,” says Lead Interior Designer Ashley McCabe. “Layers of discovery woven through the design celebrate the charm and character of the locality.”
The hotel will also be enhanced by a reworked ground floor plan, opening it up with greatly improved connectivity to the central area in which it resides, just a stone’s throw from the popular Milsom Street. Guests will also be able to enjoy striking riverside views, or relax in a new bar and terrace, which will activate the frontage and contribute to the vibrant street life.
In addition to the project in Bath, ICA has also been appointed as architects for Hilton Belfast and Hilton Islington
