Jo&Joe set to bring new Open House to IKEA, Vienna
Accor’s Jo&Joe brand has partnered with Ikea to open a hospitality concept on the top two floors of a new city centre store at Westbahnhof station in Vienna.
Comprising 345 guestrooms, a restaurant, bar and rooftop park, Open House by Jo&Joe will echo the brand’s reputation for blending elements from hostels and traditional hotels to create an original accommodation experience, which appeals to both business and leisure visitors who want to be central and interact with the local community.
“Our first Jo&Joe Open Houses have already proven to be wildly popular, as the concept blends the best of private-rental, hostel and hotel formats,” says Francois Leclerc, VP Brand and Operations Jo&Joe. “We are very enthusiastic about our partnership with Ikea and our newest location in Vienna, where we feel our commitment to freedom, autonomy and brilliant design will fit right in with the city’s aesthetic and the guests who travel here.”
Characterised by modern architecture and innovative interiors, the building will feature living walls on its façade as well as a rooftop park that will be accessible to the public. The store will also respond to trends in the retail market, such as home delivery within 24-hours to encourage customers not to bring their cars shopping with them.
Viera Juzova, Managing Director of Ikea Austria, adds: “By collaborating with Jo&Joe, we have found a partner who is an ideal match for our urban target group and who, like us, offers customers unique, new experiences and innovative concepts.”
Construction is set to commence in January 2020 and is due to be completed in 2021.
