Inhabit opens debut property
Inhabit Paddington, the first property by the new mindfulness-focused Inhabit Hotel brand, has opened its doors. Set across six Grade-II listed townhouses in West London, the property is billed as “a new urban wellness hotel”, and will place health, social connectedness, intellectual expansion and environmental responsibility at the heart of the offer. Located just minutes from Paddington Station and in close proximity with Hyde Park, the project seeks to provide a relaxing base from which guests can explore the bustling capital city.
Architects Holland Harvey and interior designers Caitlin Henderson Design have created spaces in keeping with Inhabit’s holistic approach to hospitality. The 89 guestrooms are split into five variations: Sleeper, Standard, Standard Twin, Super and Family, each featuring a bright, Scandi-toned aesthetic and Casper’s eco-friendly VOC-free mattresses made from organic materials.
The ground floor library provides a noise-free lounge containing shelves stacked with psychology, art and design books. Other interior touches include Burma’s Kalinko Homewares and Studio 306 cushions sourced from Aerende. Social enterprise Goldfinger Factory, who teach carpentry and design skills to disadvantaged people in West London, produced some bespoke furniture for Inhabit.
Anne Trouillet Rogers of art consultants Culture A has further curated a series of textile, metal, painting and photography works by both budding and recognised artists to contribute to the contemplative mood throughout the hotel.
Yeotown, the hotel’s light-flooded café for guests and neighbours, will serve fair-trade coffee, organic juices alongside a health-focussed menu. By partnering with food-wastage apps Karma and Too Good to Go, the café will host a happy hour, selling any leftover food at a discounted price to avoid it being discarded. With this social and environmental consciousness at its core, the property will also not be using single-use plastics.
