Patricia Urquiola designs Anatra collection for Janus et Cie
Janus et Cie has launched Anatra, a collection of dining and lounge pieces designed by Patricia Urquiola. Comprising an armchair, dining table, sofa, side and cocktail tables and a lounge chair, the distinctive aesthetic of the collection’s surfaces are generated by the weaving technique – a textured braiding loose enough to appear semi-transparent without sacrificing sturdiness.
“Anatra was born from my desire to play and experiment with the scale of weaving, a technique that is very distinctive of Janus et Cie,” Urquiola explains. “I wanted to try and find the perfect balance between lightness and durability, to translate the concept of comfort into generous and embracing seating solutions.”
The powder coated aluminium seating frame is available in cadet or oxford finishes, whilst the rope finishes can be selected from cadet with a platinum or cyan cross weave and oxford with a nickel or cyan cross weave. Tabletops, meanwhile, can be customised with two options: a cool textured Alabama ceramic or classic Carrara marble.
