Savoy Palace unveils guestroom designs
Savoy Palace, Funchal has revealed the first images of its RH+ and Nini Andrade Silva-designed guestrooms. Paying tribute to Madeira’s traditional art and cultural aesthetic, interiors channel the Belle Epoque period, the surroundiong volcanic landscape, and man-made features such as the island’s ancient levadas, or irrigation channels.
Elsewhere, the resort’s common areas will seek to integrate bold colours and curves suggesting plant forms alongside ornaments based on the Art Nouveau movement. The island’s wickerwork craft tradition will also be incorporated, as will local expertise in the production of fortified wine.
