Olea All Suite Hotel set for Zakynthos
Olea All Suite Hotel, a 93-key property on the eastern side of the Greek island Zakynthos, has announced its June opening date. Designed by the Athens and Stockholm-based architecture practice Block722architects+, the project blends Mediterranean aesthetics with tropical modernism, and works to connect indoor and outdoor environments for a wellness-leaning dimension.
“The idea was to introduce a resort that embraces everything that makes this island so wonderful, but in a contemporary way,” says Venia Xenou, a representative of operator Xenos Hotels Group. “From its warm-hearted people and the unique ingredients of local cuisine, to the lush vegetation and the majestic beaches, Zakynthos has just so many meaningful experiences to offer. Olea utilises all the above and adds a bit of magic through modern, minimal design and an ever-present element of water.”
Working with existing vegetation and olive trees, the design incorporates natural techniques and materials like rustic oak, wood, bamboo and rattan. At the heart of the property is a 4,000m² manmade lake with the suites and a series of loungers, pergolas and Judas trees lining its edge. As such, water flows freely through the property, with the lack of boundaries between suites and communal spaces emphasising this presence. A spa, gym, beauty salon and yoga pavilion enhances the wellness offer, whilst the hotel’s F&B offer includes a sunset bar and a venue tapping into Greek and Mediterranean flavours.
