B&B Italia signs agreement with Luigi Caccia Dominioni

The B&B Italia Group has signed an agreement with the heirs of Luigi Caccia Dominioni to produce and distribute a selection of original iconic products, created by one of Italy’s most prominent exponents of post-war design and architecture.

The agreement, which includes the right to use the brand Luigi Caccia Dominioni, affects over 20 products – including chairs, sofas, tables and lamps that have marked the evolution of Italian design for over a half century, starting in the 1940s. The collection will become available in September and includes the Catilina chair, the ABCD and Toro armchairs and sofas, the Cilindro ottoman and the Nonaro outdoor seating system amongst others.

“B&B Italia and Caccia Dominioni have distinctly different stories and styles, but they share an origin guided by a deep vocation to innovation and experimentation,” comments Giorgio Busnelli, Chairman of B&B Italia. “These elements have produced iconic pieces that have made the history of design. Therefore, I am particularly proud of this collaboration, which will allow us to use the global network of B&B Italia to reveal to the world another symbol of Italian excellence and design.”

Andrea C. Bonomi, Chairman of Investindustrial, adds: “Luigi Caccia Dominioni is a very important figure for me. He, along with Vico Magistretti, were responsible for the project of Milano San Felice, the first satellite city in Italy created at the end of the 1960s and strongly desired by my grandmother, Anna Bonomi. In the 1970s, he also designed Parc Saint Roman for my father Carlo, an important complex of residential towers in Montecarlo. Therefore, this relationship is renewed and reinforced thanks to B&B Italia, which I am sure knows best how to valorise these iconic products that made the history of design, and still nowadays continue to stand out for their extraordinary elegance and contemporary style.”
