Mövenpick plans for Manila
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a new hotel in Manila, expanding its portfolio in the Philippines to three properties to mark its Asian expansion strategy.
“The Philippines, which is emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, is a target development market as we continue our expansion drive across Asia,” comments Andrew Langdon, Global Chief Development Officer, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
Due to open in Q4 2021, Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Quezon City will comprise 350 guestrooms and suites, as well as 250 residences, two restaurants and a rooftop F&B venue offering panoramic views. Located in Metro Manila, all 600 units will offer in-room technology and upscale amenities for both short and extended stays, as well as access to a swimming pool and fitness centre.
Langdon adds: “Manila has been on our radar for some time and Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Quezon City, located in one of the country’s more important commercial centres, affords us the perfect opportunity to leverage the capital’s growing prosperity while showcasing our Swiss hospitality style and exceptional facilities.”
Meanwhile, a business centre and meeting spaces will be made up of four function rooms and a large pillar-free ballroom, each fitted with audio-visual technology for hosting conferences, product launches and social events.
Situated 17km from Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the Philippines’ main international gateway, the hotel also offers direct connections to major cities including London, New York, Los Angeles and Sydney.
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts currently operates two upscale hotels in the Philippines, including Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and the recently opened Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay.
