Tarkett introduces Desso hotel rugs

Tarkett has introduced its Desso rug collections to the hotels and hospitality sector, offering architects and designers a range of premium, design-led floorcoverings. Contributing to flexible and striking spaces, Desso rugs are now available in a variety of ranges including denim, patterns & shades, vintage, Desso&Ex and Axminster configurations.

The Desso denim collection is inspired by the eponymous fashion staple and features textured blues, whilst the vintage collection draws from more vibrant shades, and the patterns & shades range incorporates textured, muted hues.

Available with a variety of binding options, Desso rugs can all be customised to the designers preferences. From blind or linen banding to rubber finishes, this release offers further options to create statement pieces complete with anti-slip fleece backing and a commercial rating.

Examples of Desso’s bespoke hospitality carpets can be found in the Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht Hotel. Part of Hyatt Hotels’ Andaz brand, the hotel is fitted with custom made woven Axminster throughout both public areas and guestrooms. Dutch designer Marcel Wanders was commissioned for the project, and tasked with creating interiors that would reflect the local flavour. To do this, the Axminster woven area rugs were applied in the lobby, library and presidential suite, all featuring motifs including historical maps, cultural imagery, portraits and townscapes, and playful hints like a portrait of André Hazes – a singer from the Jordaan district where the hotel is located.

All rugs in the Desso range can be combined with Tarkett’s LVT and wood flooring.
