Shangri-La Singapore opens Tower Wing
The Tower Wing at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, will be unveiled on 16 May following an 8-month rejuvenation process. Comprising a refreshed lobby, 503 newly designed guestrooms, three restaurant concepts, and a revitalised club lounge, the wing combines Shangri-La’s typical luxury with elements of an urban resort.
The new experience begins in the lobby, which features a ceiling art installation by Japanese designer Hirotoshi Sawada made up of thousands of stylised leaves reminiscent of a tree canopy. Here a new lift lobby, embellished with authentic Peranakan touches, takes guests to the guestrooms above.
Guests can choose from the Tower Wing Deluxe, Horizon Club Deluxe, Executive, Family, one-bedroom or Grand Suite formats, all featuring a soothing colour palette and contemporary appliances. The rejuvenated Deluxe guestrooms each offer 38m² of space and come with stylish furnishings, glass wardrobes, floor-to-ceiling windows and a choice of city or pool views.
Elsewhere, the new dining facilities include the Nami Restaurant and Bar, serving up fine Japanese dining on a spacious terrace, the Lobby Lounge, showcasing Singapore favourites, and ShopHouse, a grab-and-go concept selling breads, sandwiches, salads and snacks.
“Visiting the renovated Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore is like dropping in on a dear friend, but one who has just returned after a retreat,” explains Reto Klauser, Vice President and General Manager, Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. “You will still find the resort-like, lush gardens, warm Asian hospitality and the timeless elegance that we are well-known for. In addition to all that, we have introduced new elements that smooth out the transition between work and leisure, so you will feel completely comfortable whether you are on a business trip or a family staycation. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back to rediscover the Shangri-La.”
